Training:

NARESA has the capacity to train on different aspects of HIV care and prevention including paediatric ARV, PMTCTfor health Workers and Health service providers, rudimentary PMTCT for community and groups.

2006-2007

The following training were carried out in 2006-2007

PMCT course (7 days) – 384 health workers trained

Paediatric ARV course (5 days) – 59 health workers trained.

Paediatric adherence counseling course (5 days) 28 health workers trained.

Peer counselors – rudimentary PMCT – 38 peer counselors trained.

All training is carried out with standard Kenya Ministry of Health curriculum. Standard training Packages exist for the above courses. Prof Nduati has been extensively involved in development of the curriculum and training materials. NARESA works with various experts to train trainers who then are supported to roll out training into each of the Districts.
